Medical illustration

The field of medical illustration was established in the United States by Max Brödel and his students, with the founding of the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1911. Myriam Studios founder Mariya Khan was trained by the fourth and fifth generation of faculty carrying on Brödel's tradition at the Hopkins graduate program.
