Multimedia
The web is our playground. We bring together traditional art and animation aesthetic with cutting edge technology to provide incredible media experiences.
Myriam Studios provides visual media and brand design for organizations working at the frontiers of science, medicine, law, and education. With over 20 years in visual communications, biomedical illustration, and interactive design, we bring a uniquely interdisciplinary skillset at the intersection of sciences, arts, and technology. Our work supports biotech innovators, med‑legal professionals, EdTech platforms, and research publishers seeking to communicate complexity with clarity. We build experiences to be accurate and memorable, captivating and rooted in empathy for the audience. From the traditional arts we bring a human touch and a sensitivity to nuance, enabling our clients to cut through the noise of the attention economy and let their work be distinctly heard in competitive fields.
Before launching Myriam Studios, Mariya Khan received her graduate degree in biomedical illustration from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Two years in the research hospital provided intensive training in visual services for healthcare and science communities and included studies in molecular modeling, surgical illustration, instructional design, animation, and dissection anatomy.
Mariya's thesis work on optimizing data-driven animation workflows was supported by the Vesalian Scholar grant.
As graphic artist for the National Geographic Magazine, Mariya had the honor of working under the art direction of Fernando Baptista, Manuel Canales, Monica Serrano and Jason Treat. Among other projects, she contributed illustrations, research, and data graphics to the NatGeo Magazine award-winning feature supplement and interactive experience about the Amazonian forests.
